Rhonda and I are excited to let you all know that we have engaged the first three key members of our Development Team! There are a lot of pieces and parts to an effort of this scope and there is no way we can do it all by ourselves.
We have selected Steenhaus Architects to be our creative partners. Scott and Heather Steen are a husband and wife team based in Montgomery that just recently struck out on their own after years of experience in the commercial design arena in New York City. Scott will take the lead with the technical architectural designs and Heather will contribute her creative energy to help interpret and communicate our wish list. It only took a couple of meetings for us to know they were going to be the right people and together we will shape our vision into reality.
One key aspect to turning a raw piece of land into a developed resort is the civil engineering work that helps to guarantee that the site is designed and configured to support the immediate requirements of the project and also the future potential expansion. We feel confident the selection of Larry E. Speaks & Associates will provide us with an infrastructure that will do just that. Steven Speaks is already working with the county engineer to unravel our first challenge, understanding FEMA floodplain requirements that will determine where we can build.
No matter how creative our design is and how solid our infrastructure plan, a successful development still depends on the systems that deliver the energy and environment that ultimately allow guests to have a top notch experience. After our initial kickoff meeting, we feel Pursuit Engineering will be the right partner to to do just that. Chase and Jeff were very knowledgeable, asked the right questions of us, and also provided the right answers. Their local presence in Auburn also falls in line with our commitment to use local resources whenever possible.
With this great team in place, we should start moving ahead quickly to shape our dream into a real resort. We can't wait till each of you can come and experience The Destination with us!
